“FW Music were going through a rebrand and produced a number of animated logos with which we could precede YouTube and other online media content. Deft Ear created a sound logo using a discreet and relevant range of sounds that had real impact.”

The brief for this project was to help to enhance the recent FW Music rebrand of the record label with a suitable sound logo and sonic ident to accompany the new visual logo and visual branding. The sound logo and visual logo could then be used to precede online video and marketing content to create an impactful, coherent and recognisable impression in the minds of viewers and listeners.
The project was an interesting and exciting opportunity to help develop the new FW Music record label brand with a fresh approach and aesthetic. The aesthetic around the FW Music label and the work they do allowed us to experiment with a sound design and minimalist music component that isn’t firmly rooted in any particular genre or style but helps to support the idea and concept of sound, music, technology, new approaches and fresh talent that the label helps to promote and champion from musicians and artists in and around Manchester and nationally.
